  • Maida Flour - 2 cups
  • Scraped Coconut - 1/2 cup
  • Salt- 1 tea spoon
  • Water- 1 cup
  • Oil- 1/2 cup


  1. Take maida flour and mix it with water, scraped coconut and salt accordingly.

    Mix the flour until it is loosened to spread on the frying pan (thava).

  2. If the mixture is ready for frying, then spread some oil on the thava first, then spread the flour mixture so finely in round or squire shape as you desire.

  3. Spread some oil on top of it.

  4. When the down part is fried, turn the Orotti to allow the other side to cook. Likewise, you can fry a number of orotties for the evening tea or for the breakfast.

    Orotti is a nice snack if you spread some cooked potatoes and can be used as a roll. Also, tastes good to use with chicken curry or fish curry. While preparing the flour mixture, you can squeeze and add some ripened bananas(cheru pazham) to taste better.
