Tomatto (thakkali) chutney


  • 1 cup chopped tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup chopped onions
  • 2 green chillies, chopped
  • 8 to 10 curry leaves
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp oil
  • salt to taste


  1. Heat the oil in a non-stick pan, add the green chillies and curry leaves and sauté for a few 

  2. Add the onions and sauté till they turn translucent.

  3. Add the chopped tomato, turmeric powder and salt and sauté for another 4 to 5 minutes.

  4. Allow to cool completely.

  5. Purée the mixture for a few seconds in a blender to get a coarse chunky chutney.
