Japan to Join hands with Kerala in IT and Tourism Sectors!
Japan is much taken up by Kerala initiatives and achievements in the IT and tourism sectors. Japan feels that IT and Tourism are the two engines of growth for the Kerala economy. Japan is keenly looking forward to a joint venture with Kerala in these sectors.
Japan considers expanding its operations in South India as there are more Japanese citizens working in the region compared to rest of the country. The Far East country has already started a joint working group on IT and electronics with India last year. Though there are 15 Japanese companies operating in Kerala, the number of branches set up by Japanese companies had almost doubled from 53 to 105 in the past one year.
Takeshi Yagi, Japanese Ambassador to India expressed this concern as he came to Kerala to inaugurate the Indo-Japan Chamber of Commerce Kerala (Injack), a new, not-for-profit organisation to connect SMEs in Kerala with Japan. Injack will focus on strengthening opportunities for businesses in Kerala to form strategic partnerships and joint ventures with business entities in Japan.
